On top of no Dshot, why no Natty Stride? Or are we not talking about AB builds anymore?
V Completely agreed, but just making sure.

Fixed it for you. Apart from stupid OP pew pew builds (eg ED), all good bars have natty stride. You dont just run natty in ab.

I have fun D-Shotting skills through quarterupting.

I have to admit this build is working really good for me. Just hard to use it capping but I solo good with it in ab. One question though, what are the attribute numbers?
Also I switched Bull Strike to Mending Touch. I couldnt get it right away, but it works pretty good. One more thing, what is a good bow or weapon for a Ranger in Pvp? Again thank you everyone

1 Favorable Winds
2 Distracting Shot
3 Savage Shot
4 Barrage
5 Hammer Bash
6 Crushing Blow
7 Troll Unguent
8 Natural Stride
Believe it or not... it rapes
R/D
1. Attacker's Insight
2. Concussion Shot
3. Quick Shot
4. Expert Focus
5. Distracting Shot
6. Antidote Signet
7. Troll Unguent
8. Natural Stride
If u get concussion off its just over (16 seconds dazed) D-shot is there for anything else (just don't d-shot when dazed cause it counts as a daze interrupt)
but we are talking about AB right? Or else its just the standard ranger builds
but my opinion is... don't ask for builds... just make 1 ureself and try them out cause other people play different so certain builds suits them while other think its a shitbuild cause they just dont know how to play it... thats why some prefer incendiary arrows over burning arrow and others crippling shot over melandru's shot and the other way around

Poisonous Recurve of Fortitude - 15^50
Crippling Recurve of Fortitude - +5E
Martial weapon of Fortitude / Shield of Fortitude - +/-5E / +10AL vs. *type* + -20% Crippling
Vampiric Longbow of Fortitude - -5E/+15%
I myself haven't got any solid numbers for attributes but I go 11+1+1 Expertise, 10+1 Wildy / Marks. Swap to the longbow to get ranged targets, crippling for cripple, camp poisonous while alt-tabbing, defensive while under pressure for a chance to survive.
I think it's also possible to get the vampiric mod without losing arrow speed too, by swapping weapons utilising the Chiizu Dance mid-flight of the arrow. I'm going to test this with other weapon mods counting the durations and stuff too.

It's always worth checking out known builds. Some bars are just crap no matter what player is behind it, however...
Incendiary Arrows is better than Burning Arrow when it comes to playing on-stand or in an area with a big amount of people. Crippling Shot just isn't worth it with Pin Down around now, as it has a mere recharge of 8. I'd rather use Burning Arrow over Melandrus' Shot though when it comes to efficiency because the pressure is pretty much guaranteed all of the time, although the cast on MShot could be a positive when it comes to making it harder to interrupt and easier to cripple.

I hardly run burning arrow in pve now, its all splinter barrage or volley bha. I never use natural stride due to orders and other enchants. And even past that I rarely use a stance, only when I'm in a pinch.
As for Melandru's, I'll have to try it out sometime.

Ok then, I'll run bha/burning with natural stride.
Cookie cutter builds really annoy me, but as a ranger what else can you provide that still can work well? Nothing is really interesting to me anymore, I've played rangers way too much.

this is a PvP build i posted in RA thread, but I'll put here for any bored rangers who want to try something unconventional and that u won't find on pvxwiki...plus, it's fun as hell to play
[apply poison][lightning reflexes][jagged strike][temple strike][wild strike][death blossom][troll unguent][resurrection signet]
Expertise: 9+2+1
Wilderness Survival: 9
Dagger Mastery: 12
The rest radiant runes, attunement insignias, and a major (or sup) vigor
15^50, poisonous daggers of fortitude (I use claws of broodmother - customized)
carry a bow in, tab ur target, troll, then lightning reflexes and JS-->TS (alternate with WS)-->finish with DB...reapply poison as necessary

Too energy costly, weak attack skill choice, etc. It's good for the lols, but a better alternative would be [build=OgcSc5OP/vnXZ2/JmngFHBA] imo.

1. [build prof=Ranger/Paragon beast=11+1+1 spear=11 expertise=8+1][optional][Optional][optional][Enraged Lunge][Otyugh's Cry][Comfort Animal][Charm Animal][Resurrection Signet][/build]
The first optional is for a Spear Attack:
[Spear of Lightning] (Big damage)
[Barbed Spear] (Spreading Bleeding)
[Merciless Spear] (Deep Wound)
The last two optionals can be one of these combinations.
[Tiger's Fury] and any Beast Master Skill/Spear Attack (Since [[Tiger's Fury] disables your Beast Mastery skills you don't need any others). Consider bring [[Barbed Spear] + [[Maiming Spear] for spreading Cripple.
Two long recharging Beast Mastery Skills:
[Call of Haste] (IAS/IMS for your pet)
[Call of Protection] (Very long recharging shout and defense for your pet)
[Disrupting Lunge] (Long recharging useful pet attack)
[Feral Aggression] (33%IAS for your pet and extra damage)
[Run as One] (IMS for both you and your pet)
or
2. [build prof=range/warri expert=10+1 beastm=10+1+1 hammer=11] [Hammer Bash][Crushing Blow][Bestial Mauling][optional][Rampage as One][Comfort Animal][Charm Animal][Resurrection Signet][/build]
[Energizing Wind] or [Scavenger Strike] for energy management
[Wild Blow]
[Distracting Blow] or [Distracting Strike]
To make use of your pet.

Comparison between the various Ranger bow elites for AB (i.e. no Rampage As One):
Incendiary Arrows vs. Crippling Shot vs. Melandru's Shot vs. Burning Arrow vs. Broad Head Arrow vs. Expert's Dexterity
Incendiary Arrows: Not a bad skill, but misplaced on a Ranger in AB. If you're looking for AoE damage, you get an Elementalist, not a Ranger. The other main benefit of Incendiary Arrows is the heavy pressure you can put out, but this is AB. AB skirmishes aren't decided on pressure.
Crippling Shot: Pretty good to snare the cappers in the other team, but useful for nothing else.
Melandru's Shot: Good to snare the cappers in the other team (but inferior to Crippling Shot), and can be used in a short skirmish as well with extra damage.
Burning Arrow: It's good in skirmishes, but AB skirmishes between good teams don't usually last long enough for pressure to take effect, and you can't stop the other team from falling out.
Broad Head Arrow: This skill yields immediate effect in skirmishes, and since Monks in AB run Mo/A for the mobility, it can be very deadly. On the other hand, it doesn't do anything else. Obviously run this only when you have another physical character in your team.
Expert's Dexterity: When running ED you aren't a 'ranger' in the classic sense, but a DPS machine, and your priorities change accordingly - making Expert's Dexterity a good elite for AB.
The elites to run are Crippling Shot / Melandru's Shot / BHA depending on your playstyle, and Expert's Dexterity depending on your intended role in AB. Burning Arrow and Incendiary Arrows aren't optimal for AB but still work, especially if you aren't in an organized team and have to rely on yourself (as opposed to working together). If not running Crippling Shot / Melandru's Shot, I strongly recommend Pin Down. Otherwise standard bars work well.
Also there's nothing stopping you from using a pet if you so want to; use RaO Axe, RaO Thumper, Heal As One R/P or Enraged Lunge R/P if you choose to.
